Overview
The Department’s Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) is launching a new system for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) application for diversionary mental health and substance abuse services.
This application is not related to temporary cash assistance (TCA) or other public assistance benefits. For more information on those services, please visit the DCF Public Assistance page. This application enables behavioral health service providers to submit applications of clients into a centralized database to determine if a client that is served by their agency meets the eligibility requirements for TANF diversionary services funding. The new system aims to improve the user experience and the Department’s data analysis and reporting.
Effective, September 18, 2023, TANF service providers and Managing Entity TANF Specialists are required to use the new system to submit client applications.
